Expert Teacher Program

- Expert teachers observe and provide coaching to teachers with 4+ years’ experience.

Greenwood’s expert teachers provide both formal and informal mentoring to their colleagues.

In addition to many years of exemplary teaching, each expert teacher has demonstrated a student-centered, technology-enabled approach to learning, as well as the ability to challenge and support students to venture further both academically and personally.

Our expert teachers:

Lead all aspects of student learning for their assigned courses
Observe and provide coaching to teachers with 4+ years’ experience
Collaborate as a member of the Greenwood Centre in the design and delivery of professional development
Research and model highly effective teaching practices that support Greenwood’s approach to education through personalization, particularly as it applies to co-teaching and use of our learning community rooms

Sustaining teacher growth is a key outcome of the Centre for Teaching and Learning. We believe that all teachers can attain the distinction of expert teacher; our Expert Teacher program is just one way we help them get there.
