Grade 11 Leadership Morning

Written by Stewie Bain ‘21 and Liv Arbess ‘21
During Grade 11 Leadership Morning, students discussed what they wanted to do and the impact they wanted to have in their graduating year. It was disappointing to not be able to meet in person but it is important to stay positive, not only for next year, but also during the summer.

Cohesive, enthusiastic, and motivated are just a few of the qualities we, as a graduating class, would like to embody in our final stretch of school. We would like to leave a positive impact that is not only important, but memorable. Check out our Padlet here full of characteristics that we want to embody as a grade and as individuals.

During Leadership Morning the Grade 11s went through four different stations that provided more understanding of us as students and what we need to prepare for in Grade 12. In preparation for next year, the grade began to write their buddy letters which was a nice opportunity to get to know our Grade 7 and 9 buddies in advance.

To better understand what we wanted to accomplish next year, we had a station where we planned our goals. We created a collective identity for our grade.

Finally, each Grade 11 student created their own attribute portrait where everyone took a photo and put attributes about themselves. The group reconvened at the end to summarize what they had done.

At the end of our Leadership Morning everyone wished each other a good summer.
