Collin Stubbs

Teacher, Math and Computer Science

What is your most memorable Greenwood moment?
My most memorable Greenwood moment is when I went on the Grade 11 Winter OE trip to Algonquin Park. Winter camping and interior camping with snowshoes and sleds is such a unique experience that proved to be a great way to get to know the students out of the classroom.

Describe a time you “ventured further”.
A time I've "ventured further" is with the Greenwood teacher band where we played a concert with bands of teachers from other schools. I'd never played guitar in a band before and it forced me to work more on my skills and comfort level during a performance.

How do you spend your summers?
I spend my summers working away on new software projects, going to the gym, playing music, and camping as much as possible. My goal is usually one campground a week!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
