Jonathan Tepper

Executive Director, Information & Learning Technology

What is your most memorable Greenwood moment?
Moving from a one device fits-all model to a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) approach, where students can choose the laptop that best meets their learning needs.

Describe a time you “ventured further”.
Heading back into the classroom after 10 years to teach Grade 11 and 12 Computer Science.  I found it very rewarding to help students reach their potential and to kindle curiosity about and a life-long interest in the field of technology.

How do you spend your summers?
Technology doesn't stop during the summer break, and neither does IT. Between a few weeks of vacation with family, I spend most of the summer ensuring the school's systems are upgraded, new services are deployed and accounts are created for the fresh new faces entering Greenwood in the fall.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
