Kinesiology Lab at University of Toronto

Erin Taylor, Communications Officer
What does studying kinesiology in university look like? Grade 12s studying exercise science headed to the University of Toronto to find out.

The afternoon started off with a presentation from the university about the study of kinesiology. They took a tour of U of T’s Kinesiology facilities and learned about the exciting opportunities they can look forward to in a university program. They participated in  a practical movement activity, getting hands-on experience in a research setting. They also visited multiple labs in the facilities, including for motor control, mental health, and biomechanics.

It was an interesting opportunity to learn about kinesiology, and get excited for what they may get to work on in their university studies.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
