The GCS Case Attack

Twenty-four hours on the clock - time starts NOW!

On Thursday, May 9 twenty groups with a total of 76 students participated in the Business Case Competition here at Greenwood. Each group was presented with an Ivey School of Business case study and had only 24 hours to work together to find a solution and prepare a formal presentation.

This semester’s case study was about a coffee shop called Beanz that was dealing with a financial crisis. The students read about the company in depth and used a step-by-step process to complete a full case analysis by analyzing financial data and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the company, the various stakeholders affected by the issue, and the potential solutions that would help the company succeed.

After the groups completed their case analysis, they prepared for their final presentations. Dressed in formal attire, students were focused and dedicated on impressing the panel of judges, made up of staff members and local businesspeople.

On May 28, we will announce the winners of the competition during our morning assembly. Stay tuned!

Thank you to all the teachers, administrators and judges who made this day possible!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
