Celebrating Accomplishments at the 2019 Awards Assembly

We celebrated the Arts, Student Growth, Leader by Example, Athlete of the Year and Spirit of Adventure award winners at our annual Awards Assembly on Monday, May 27.

Sarah Bruce started off our assembly by acknowledging the incredible accomplishments made by every single student at Greenwood. “I would like to take a moment to congratulate all of you for committing to your school work and your community, for demonstrating perseverance and putting forth your best effort every day,” said Sarah.

Several students made outstanding contributions to the Arts, our Grizzly athletes took home many championship titles, others showed truth growth and leadership, and many students took on challenges that pushed themselves out of their comfort zone. Each recipient ventured further and has left a positive impact on the Greenwood community.

On June 14, we will be celebrating the entire 2018/2019 school year at Celebration Day and will be handing out more awards. We look forward to seeing students and parents there.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
