Learn About Our Service Learning Committee!

The Service Learning Committee is composed of students ranging from Grades 9-12. The committee strives to increase awareness and engage students in various social causes by planning and executing school-wide initiatives that support community engagement on relevant social issues.

The Service Learning Committee spearheaded the Project Impact campaign in December of 2019, which is an annual fundraising and awareness campaign for the Out of the Cold dinner. This dinner serves 150 of the most vulnerable people in Toronto and through our silent auction, we managed to raise over $1,500 for a five-course dinner.

Our two-week campaign included activities such as card making, placemat making, and the selling of Project Impact merchandise, as well as larger initiatives such as our silent auction, Grade 7&8 information sessions, and the dinner. These activities were used to help educate Greenwood students on the issues facing those who are less fortunate and how we can work to decrease food scarcity and insecurity in the city.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the campaign.
