Congratulations to the Class of 2020

Many important events are being put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that hasn’t stopped us from celebrating the accomplishments of our students. Since our official in-person graduation for the Class of 2020 has been postponed, we decided to bring graduation to them.

Staff had the opportunity to visit the houses of our Grade 12 students on Wednesday, June 10 to congratulate them on this important milestone and wish them luck in postsecondary. Staff dropped off a gift bag that included a mortar board cap, a framed collage of pictures taken throughout the year and other small gifts. Students took pictures with their families and Advisers and reflected on their years at Greenwood.

Although our graduates can’t all be together, it was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the school year. We are looking forward to being together again for an in-person graduation in the future!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
