Let's Celebr8!

Our Grade 8s are hitting an important milestone in their life as they move on to high school next year. The Greenwood community recognized this achievement with a fun Celebr8 event!

On June 1, our Grade 8 students spent the morning participating in group activities with each other and their Advisers. They reflected on their past two years at Greenwood and talked about what they are looking forward to in Grade 9. They also heard from Principal Sarah Bruce as well as our Heads of Student Leadership, Stewie Bain and Liv Arbess. Stewie and Liv encouraged our Grade 8s to venture further as much as they can while they are in high school.

After a congratulatory message and closing remarks from Anthony Costa, Director, Grade 7/8 Program, they enjoyed a slideshow presentation filled with pictures from their time at Greenwood.

Along with the Celebr8 event, our Grade 8s were given a special gift. They received a copy of The Six Most Important Decisions you’ll Ever Make: A Guide for Teens by Sean Covey. This book is jam-packed with inspiring quotes, fun quizzes and many tips to help them thrive during their teen years.

Congratulations to all of our Grade 8s -- we wish you the best of luck as you move on to high school!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
