April Showers Bring Prom Flowers

Tihmily Li, Communications Officer
The weather could not have been any better on April 29 for Greenwood’s Spring Senior Formal. Despite the bursts of cold weather that plagued April, last Friday saw fair temperatures and sunny skies. A total of 165 Greenwood students attended the Formal.

The Social Affairs Committee executives Charlotte Wood ‘22 and Cassie Karleff ‘22 worked hard with Greenwood staff to put together the decorations and plan the evening. Sophie Fell ‘22 assisted with the formal’s promotion through the advertising class. In the end, it was a team effort as various Grade 12s came together on Friday to put the finishing touches to the event. Students had a great time dancing the night away. (Rumour has it that a certain Grizzly made a guest appearance on the dance floor). Take a look at the fun times our senior students had last Friday!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
