Passionate, committed, knowledgeable, energetic and engaging, our teachers and staff have lived, taught and travelled widely around the world, and they bring their diverse backgrounds and life experiences to enrich life at Greenwood. Our student-focused approach ensures that students and teachers create the foundation for a strong rapport from the first day of school, and that these relationships are supported and strengthened over time.

The Greenwood Centre for Teaching and Learning provides our teachers with opportunities to gain skill in the specialized methodologies - such as authentic and ongoing assessment and new learning technologies - that are central to our mission.
All of our teachers are certified by the Ontario College of Teachers.

Rachel joined Greenwood in 2016 after spending four years teaching science at Chace Community School in London, England, where she also coordinated the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program. A lifelong camper, Rachel spent many years working as a camp counsellor and unit head. She has also coached and organized a wide range of sports. Rachel is teaching grade 11 Biology and is an Adviser as well as the Adviser Coordinator this year. When not working, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with her family. She holds a B.Sc. (H) from the University of Guelph as well as a Graduate Diploma in Education from Griffith University.
Leah joined Greenwood in 2020 after spending four years working with Global Pathways School in Coimbatore, India as the school's Summer Camp Director and Director of Operations. She is a Grade 7 and 8 Adviser and teaches Green Industries, Social Studies and HPE at Greenwood. In addition, she is the Outdoor Education Coordinator, passionate member of the Climbing Club and DEI committee and enjoys coaching various sports teams throughout the year. Leah earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Gender Studies at Queen's University and completed her Bachelor of Education at Trent University. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast and jumps at any opportunity to spend time in nature.
Ty received his Diploma in Human Kinetics from Capilano University and his Bachelor of Kinesiology and Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. He is excited to teach Health and Physical Education and support the Athletics Department at Greenwood. Ty has a passion for sports and physical activity, with extensive coaching experience that he will bring to Greenwood. Fun facts about Ty: he has represented Team Canada in Ultimate Frisbee, recently got a new puppy, and loves to cook and listen to music.
Roz has a BA in Media, Information and Technoculture from Western University and a Masters of Teaching from OISE. After graduating from her undergrad degree, Roz worked in marketing for a Toronto firm where she applied her social media knowledge. Roz has always taught in some capacity, whether it is coaching or tutoring, and she is excited to be at Greenwood teaching math and Learning Strategies while also continuing to coach many of Greenwood's athletic teams. She has an interest in sports and in how social media impacts adolescent mental health. Roz is very familiar with the neighbourhood as she grew up near Greenwood!
Emily is in her 13th year at Greenwood where she has taught French and drama. She is the Subject Team Leader for the Arts department as well as the Associate Director of Arts. This year, she will be teaching drama and musical theatre, as well as directing the junior and the full-school musicals, and overseeing the Arts Committee. Emily values the vibrant and inclusive arts community at Greenwood and is looking forward to all of the arts experiences that will be offered this year.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in drama and French from Queen's University and a Master of Arts in drama from the University of Toronto. Before completing teacher's college at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, she spent a year in France as a lecturer at the University of Rennes. When she's not at school, Emily enjoys running, theatre, travel and spending time outdoors with her family.
Carolyn (Callie) is a graduate of the Masters of Teaching program at OISE, where she focused on science and math education. Previously, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology and International Development from Mount Allison University. In her spare time, Callie enjoys being active by taking her dog for walks, spending time in nature and travelling.
Liz taught and counselled at Greenwood from 2005 to 2016 prior to moving to Malta, where she worked with refugees crossing the Mediterranean from Libya. She returned to Greenwood in 2021 and works in the Guidance department as a Grade 11 and 12 Adviser and teacher of GLS4O. Liz has also taught at Toronto French School, University of Toronto Schools and the City Adult Learning Center, and has been a Project Leader for Youth Challenge International in Costa Rica and for Katimavik, Canada’s leading national youth volunteer-service program. Elizabeth has a BA and a BEd from the University of Ottawa, and holds Specialists in Guidance as well as Co-operative Education. In addition, she recently earned an MA in Counseling Psychology and is certified in Mental Health First Aid.
Doug is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Concurrent Education program, where he obtained his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama with a second teachable in History and a minor in Religious Studies. He was heavily involved in student government at Queen’s, acting as the Vice-President Internal for the Con-Ed Students’ Association. As well, his passion for the arts at school and in the local community is evident in his work as a sound designer for theatre and film. Doug’s film accomplishments include acting, producing and composing. He scored the political documentary Two Summers in Kosovo, and starred in the cult film The Death of Indie Rock. Doug is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and has directed Never Enough and Slave To The Grind for Death By Digital Productions.
Iain has an Honours B.Sc in Physics from Trent University as well as a B.Ed from Queens with a focus on Youth-at-risk. Iain joined Greenwood in 2019 and this year he teaches science and math. Iain loves rock climbing and gardening and has a dream to one day keep bees on his roof in Toronto.
