Leaving Class Ceremony

Greenwood bid farewell to its Class of 2017 on Friday, June 16 at the annual Leaving Class Ceremony. The event followed that morning’s Celebration Day assembly and was also held in the Toronto Centre for the Arts. The Class of 2017 and hundreds of their family members and friends joined the school’s teachers and staff to celebrate all that they have accomplished; and accomplish they have! This class will leave a lasting legacy of empathy, athleticism and perseverance that we are sure will inspire the remaining Greenwood students for years to come.

At the Ceremony, audience members were treated to musical and oral presentations by members of the Class as well as the highly-anticipated Leaving Class Awards. Click here for the full list of the afternoon’s award winners. Congratulations to the whole Class of 2017!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
