Winter Sports Playoffs

The regular seasons for winter team sports are coming to a close, but playoffs are just beginning! Here’s a wrap up of how the Grizzlies’ seasons went.

Boys Basketball
The three boys basketball teams had strong seasons, and all of them qualified for the playoffs in strong positions.

The U14 Boys finished their season in second place and will advance straight to the Final Four. The team competes for the title on Saturday, March 3 at Villanova College.

The Junior and Senior teams are playing today (February 28) for a spot in the finals.

Girls Volleyball
The U14 DI, U14 DIII, and Junior teams had very positive seasons and showed great development. They missed out on the playoffs this year, but we look forward to seeing them apply what they’ve worked on this season when next year rolls around.

The Senior Girls finished in first place, winning all but one game! This very strong season means Greenwood gets to host the Final Four championship on Saturday, March 3, beginning at 10 am.

Girls and Boys Hockey
The U20 Girls team had a strong season, and have made the playoffs. They are competing today (February 28) for a spot in the Final Four.

The U14 Boys finished third in DII and are playing in the Final Four Championship at Appleby College on Friday, March 2.

The U20 Boys finished in first place in their league! They’ve earned hosting rights for the semi-final game, which is being played today (February 28) at Leaside arena.

Check out the Athletics Portal for the full upcoming schedule, including the times and locations of playoff games. Come out and cheer on the Grizzlies!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
