Students, staff and parents came together for Celebration Day at the John Bassett Theatre in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre last Friday. They spent the morning looking back at the wonderful memories made in the 2018-2019 school year.
The crowd enjoyed musical performances by the band and choir and an amazing speech by Grade 12 student Katie Carter, who gave this year’s My Greenwood Story address.
Several awards were given to students, recognizing achievements from across the four pillars of character: moral, intellectual, civic and performance. We also revealed our House Cup winner, Yukon! They took the cup by only seven points ahead of Latimer, making it the closest House Cup race to date. The full list of award recipients can be found here.
The Greenwood community also said farewell to one of our long-time staff members, Carla DiFilippo, who started at Greenwood in 2003. Carla has played several important roles at Greenwood including teacher, coach and Director, Student Life. She has left a lasting impact on the Greenwood community and we wish her luck in her next adventure at Havergal College.
Thank you to everyone who celebrated the 2018-2019 school year with us and congratulations to all of our award winners.
