Jingling All the Way at the 2019 Winter Concert

Cold is the arctic sea
Far are your arms from me
Long will this winter be
Frozen in Frobisher Bay

After a beautiful rendition by our vocal class of James Gordon’s song “Frobisher Bay”, our two MCs, Megan Somerville ‘20 and Cole Perelmuter ‘20, welcomed everyone to the concert.

They first introduced our Grade 7 Band, who performed a mix of classic holiday music including “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” and “Jingle Bells”, conducted by Mr. Morrison.

Up next was our Grade 8 Band, who kicked off their performance with “Jingle Bell Rock” and ended with a classic performance of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”.

After some entertaining jokes by our two MCs, our Grade 9/10 vocalists performed a variety of songs including “Across The Sea” by Masse and “Adeste Fideles” by J.F. Wade. Shortly following, the Grade 9 Band and Jazz Band played songs ranging from “Frosty the Snowman” to “The Best of the Beatles”. They performed an array of genres to keep our audience members tapping their feet and singing along.

The night was capped with an impressive performance from the Greenwood Choir. They began by singing “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. During this song they even choreographed an entertaining dancing scene which had the whole audience laughing. They then ended their performance with a rendition of “Africa” by Paich & Porcaro.

It was a wonderfully, merry night!
