Greenwood’s Class of 2021 celebrated their achievements with small in-person graduation ceremonies as well as a virtual ceremony on Friday, June 18.
What started off as a rainy silver day ended with sunshine and blue skies, a good ode to the light at the end of the tunnel for our graduating students. Only a few weeks ago, an in-person graduation was not something we thought would be possible due to the pandemic. Luckily, in the nick of time, we were delighted to hear that we could celebrate our graduates with small in-person ceremonies.
Students arrived at the school on June 18 in their Adviser groups to celebrate this important milestone. Sarah Bruce welcomed each group and expressed her gratitude to Greenwood parents, students and staff for pushing through a difficult year. Following her opening remarks, the students' Advisers introduced each graduate and announced their plans for next year; following this, Sarah presented them with their diploma. Each student also took a family photo with their guests before they tossed their caps in celebration. Graduates then headed up to our rooftop terrace to sign Greenwood’s alumni book and collect their grad gift before heading home.
Later that evening, a virtual Leaving Class Ceremony was sent out to the Class of 2021. In this presentation, every student was recognized for their achievements by a teacher who knows them well and awards were presented. See below for all of our award winners.
It was a wonderful way for students to end the year. Congratulations to the Class of 2021 and we wish you luck in all of your future endeavours!
