Applicants and parent/guardians invited to Experience Greenwood

There was a buzz of excitement in the hallways on January 9, as Grade 6s and Grade 8s – along with their parents/guardians – arrived at Greenwood for the annual Experience Greenwood event.

The event provided an opportunity for applicants to see and feel what it might be like to be a Greenwood student – from participating in science labs, joining an athletics activity in the gym or taking part in a drama exercise in the theatre to learning more about the House program through a fun spirit activity and much more!

For parents/guardians, they had the opportunity to hear from Principal Heather Thomas about Greenwood’s key differentiators, take part in a demonstration lesson that showcased our academic approach, connect with Greenwood parent/guardian ambassadors in a conversational setting, or learn more about the Adviser Program (and more)!

“Experience Greenwood really aims to give applicant families a chance to learn more about the school, meet many staff and students, and get a feel for what life at Greenwood is like,” said Tiara Hillis, Executive Director of Admissions. “We thank everyone who joined us, and also our current students, families and staff who made the event possible; we really couldn’t do it without you.”

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
