Lots of laughs at Senior Play 67 Cinderellas

What do you get when you take one lovelorn Prince, a mysterious ballroom guest and one “glass” slipper Croc and mix it with a dash of skepticism, some great comedic timing, and a whole lot of feet?

Well, you get the hilarious Greenwood Senior Play production of 67 Cinderellas.

The show, directed by Doug Brown and Sam King, sees another side to the traditional Cinderella fairytale, one that follows Prince Dalliance desperately – and, we learn,  misguidedly – searching for the foot that fits the shoe his one true love was wearing the night they shared a brief dance.

He doesn’t know her name, her face, what she likes, where she’s from, or really anything about her at all; just that the shoe fit.

As the kingdom searches high and low for this mystery woman, 66 others with their sights on the palace try to convince the Prince they are the one for him.

Laughs and groans filled the Greenwood Theatre as the cast deftly brought these characters to life. The bright and colourful costumes and clever set further bolstered the show. And of course, cheers erupted when the real Cinderella turned down the Prince’s offer of marriage when he finally located her.

A huge congratulations to all students and staff involved. 67 Cinderellas was another show for the Greenwood history books.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
