More than 100 Greenwood Grade 10 to 12 students competed in small groups in this Spring’s Business Case Competition on May 1.
The Grade 9 winners from last December’s Junior Case Competition also won the opportunity to participate in this case competition, normally reserved for Grades 10 to 12.
Each team and guest judge receives the Ivey Business case study in the morning. For the rest of the morning and into early afternoon, the groups review the case, prepare their solution and create a presentation. During this time, the teams also had the opportunity to receive mentorship from coaches, Janie Goldstein, Ainsley Kane '23, Douglas Kong and Curtis Li '23. Using the coaches' feedback, teams can make adjustments to their proposals. This case competition took the teams to the magical kingdom where teams were tasked to not only select the best person to take over as CEO of the Disney Corporation, but to also propose avenues of growth.
In the afternoon, the teams present to judges in one of four designated sections. The judges then select a team to advance to the finals. The four finalist teams then present to a larger panel of judges who make the final decision (after a long deliberation process) of the winning team.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
