Athletes of the Week: Jack Ciotlos ('19) and Hana Labidi ('19)

Andrea McGavin
Jack was recognized for his awesome racing, blazing up a formidable ski slope that faced him at the start and never slowing down till his three kilometers were behind him, finishing third overall. The second race saw him run with seemingly boundless energy over all kinds of terrain, this time finishing second. Just as impressive as his high ranking was the way he pushed through his nerves to achieve the results he had trained hard for.

Hana was recognized for her great soccer skills. Despite the hot weather during Monday's soccer game, this player was cool as a cucumber on the field. She played with her head up, always looking for a good pass and was fast as lightening as she consistently ran through Bayview Glen's defense with ease.  Playing against a very talented goal keeper, she made scoring three goals and two assists look easy.

Congratulations, Jack and Hana!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
