Are you ready to head Into the Woods?

Mark your calendars for this year’s Junior Musical, Into the Woods Jr to be held November 21 and 22, 2025.

Into the Woods Jr is an ensemble show that will showcase the amazing talent in our community.

“The music is catchy and fun, and the characters are familiar, yet the story is new,” said Ms. Samantha King, one of the co-directors.

Audiences can look forward to mystery, surprise, laughs, and a dark and winding journey through familiar fairy tales.

The show follows a baker couple who want to have a baby, but have been cursed by the Witch next door. In order to break the curse, they have a long list of things to find.

“They need a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and a slipper as pure as gold,” explains Ms. Adelaide Leo, co-director. “Enter Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Cinderella and a whole host of other fairytale characters all trying to make their wish come true!”

Rehearsals are now underway, with a cast of 25 Grade 7 to 9 Greenwood students, three directors, and at least 15 more staff and students on the production side.

“Our Greenwood community should be inordinately excited,” the co-directors said. “We can’t wait to head into the woods with you all.

Into the Woods Jr hits the Greenwood Theatre November 21 and 22. Keep an eye out for ticket information in Week @ a Glance.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
