Celebrating the Arts

Kate Raven
Our Winter Arts Showcase celebrated the accomplishments of fashion and music students in semester one courses, as well as the Greenwood Dance team.

Our Grade 11 and 12 Fashion classes, with the help of several student models, showed off work ranging from haute couture pieces to costumes for Greenwood’s recent production of The Lion King Jr. Our many bands and ensembles had a wide range of songs to share; the Guitar Class performed a Blues Medley, the Jazz Band played their rendition of “Birdland” and  the mass band treated the crowd to “Train Heading West.” Near the end of the evening, the Dance Team put a hip-hop spin on things with their performance to Missy Elliott’s “Where They From.” (Click here to see the full program.)

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and be sure to check out photos in the attached album!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
