Senior Boys' Basketball Team Takes D1B Title

Greenwood faced off against Villanova College - the only team they had lost to all season - in the final game. The first two quarters were tight, but the Grizzlies began to pull away in the second half of the game, keeping their cool to maintain a consistent lead. Greenwood lead 60-52 when the buzzer sounded, giving them the gold medal and the CISAA title.

The team showed passion and dedication throughout the season, putting in many hours of practice to improve individual skills and gel as a group. They finished the season in first place with a record of 9-1, earning home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. Many Greenwood students, staff and parents were on hand on March 3 to cheer the team to victory.

Congratulations to the team and their coaches, and many thanks to Villanova for a great final game!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
