Office Hours Delivers Lots of Laughs

Kate Raven
Our talented actors made the most of the play's witty, snappy dialogue, and their performances were supported by excellent sets, costumes, props, makeup and hair and stage management. The play also provided an opportunity for our crew to try out the many capabilities of our new performance theatre.

Read on for what several cast and crew members had to say about their experience with the show. (And be sure to check out the attached photo album!)

Erin Applebe ('17) - Actor

"I loved working on the show because you get to know students who you otherwise wouldn't meet. It's pretty special to have performed the first Senior Play in the new theatre and I'll miss the care and attention the directors give to producing such an amazing final product."

Andrew Kernerman ('17) - Assistant Stage Manager

"Having worked on 10 school plays as a crew member, Office Hours has been the most memorable one. The combination of awesome new tech, an outstanding new theatre and an incredible cast and crew made it a great way to end my Greenwood career."

Reid Macfarlane ('17) - Actor

"The cast, crew and directors are so supportive of one another, and our cohesiveness makes what would seem to be grueling play practices enjoyable. Not only is it rewarding to present our finished work, but by the time we're performing on opening night, we have all made new friendships and have strengthened existing ones."

Mackenzie Southey ('17) - Hair & Makeup Crew Member

"The Greenwood plays have been a pleasure to work on over the years and I will miss the bonds that were created from this experience. Although I was not involved in the entire process with Office Hours, I helped with doing actors' makeup and costume accessories. The director had a clear vision of what was expected for each character's appearance, making the makeup artists' job much more manageable. I have worked on many of the plays at Greenwood and this production of Office Hours was a wonderful way to end my time in the arts."

Callum Stirton ('18) - Actor

"I loved working on my scene with Ashley. It was a lot of work but it was worth the laughs on stage."

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
