New Students Shine at Sunnybrook Cross Country Race

Our Junior Cross Country Team participated in their first race of the year on Thursday, October 5 at Sunnybrook Park. We are proud of how well our runners did, and have great expectations for the remainder of the season.

Many runners stood out on our team, including two new students, Charlie Baillie and Liam Trotter. Zoe Caldwell placed ninth for U14 girls, which is an impressive position among so many runners. It was also an exciting finish for Sam Collibee, Ryan Aspden and Ben Loewen, who remained together throughout the U14 race and placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively. It was very cool to have Greenwood runners crossing the finish line together!

Congratulations to the Junior Cross Country Grizzlies for running a great race!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
