Queen's Alumni Visit

We heard stories about frosh week, new roommates, midterms and 1500 word essays that were due the next morning.

One theme from the students was clear though; Greenwood helped prepare them for this venture. As teachers it was nice to see that the community we strive to build while students are at Greenwood is still alive and well at Queen’s. Students were just as excited to see us as they were their former classmates and classmates from other years.

Izzy Farag (‘17) and Elly Rosenbaum (‘14) are both part of the campus ambassador program that kicked off this year. Elly and Izzy are both in the Commerce program and have been connecting over coffee to help ease the transition to university life. We also caught up with Rachel Shewfelt (‘14) and Noah Flatt (‘14) both in their final year and they talked to us about the jobs they have lined up for the fall. Many first year students attended and there were lots of laughs and reminiscing about about their Greenwood experiences.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
