Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, and Swimming at CISAA
The Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, and Swimming teams have been working hard, and it is certainly paying off. After a number of strong performances at CISAA, 16 Greenwood students qualified for OFSAA.
In Alpine Skiing, the Girls Open team finished second overall at CISAA, and the Boys took fourth. Tom Witham and Montana Davis, both in Grade 11, will compete at OFSAA. Patrick Langhorne was the CISAA Individual Open Male champion!
Our Snowboarding team had a number of top three finishes, and 11 snowboarders will be heading to OFSAA. The Girls team earned first place overall, with Charlotte Keating (Grade 11), Sydney Acton (Grade 10), and Hannah Hutzal (Grade 8) each taking first place in their respective categories.
The Boys snowboarding team also gave a strong showing, earning second place overall. In the Junior Boys category, Connor Ciotlos (Grade 10) placed second and Ben Laco (Grade 9) placed third. Jack Ciotlos (Grade 11) took third place in the Senior Boys Category.
Finally, the swimming team performed well with a number of top six finishes. Mara Baker (Grade 10) came second in the CISAA Junior Girls Division for 50m backstroke and third for 50m freestyle. Anne Farr and Stanca Radulescu, both in Grade 9, and Mara Baker qualified for OFSAA.
