Just Like the Raptors!

Erin Taylor, Communications Officer
After their strong competitive season, the U20 Boys Basketball team finished off on a high note. RSGC invited Greenwood to play an exhibition game to round off another season well-played.

The venue? The Air Canada Centre, the home court of the Toronto Raptors!

At noon on Tuesday March 6, the ball dropped on the Raptor’s home court and the hour-long game began. There was no halftime, and no timeouts allowed in order to maximize the playing time that the students had on the court.

The energy in the stadium was electric. There was a great audience turnout with parents and friends from both teams. The Grizzlies were thrilled to get to try out the moves they’ve seen from their favourite NBA players right on their own court. It will certainly give them a new perspective next time they catch a Raptor’s game on TV.

A warm thank you to RSGC for inviting the Grizzlies to play at the ACC for the second year running!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
