A warm Greenwood thank you to all the grandparents and grandpals who joined us at our annual Grandfriends Day on April 29.
This favourite Greenwood tradition sees students across all grades invite older relatives and friends for a morning at the school. More than 180 guests attended, enjoying tea, scones and entertainment in the Lodge, tours of our school, dance and music performances in the Theatre, and the ever-popular photo booth. The Grizzly even made an appearance!
“We love welcoming our grandfriends to the school each spring,” said Heather Thomas, Principal and Head of School. “We thank all our grandfriends for their support, encouragement, and interest. They are a valued part of our Greenwood community.”
Thank you to the choir, guitar club and dance troupe for their performances. Thank you also to the students who provided ambient music in the Lodge.
And a huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Grandfriends Day. We hope you enjoyed your day and created a cherished memory together.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
