House Games 2020: Virtual Spirit Week

Greenwood is excited to present its first-ever House Games 2020: Virtual Spirit Week!

In lieu of Spirit Day, our House Committee has organized a jam-packed week of fun activities as a way for students to gain House points in a final push for the 2020 House Cup.

Every morning starts with House trivia and at lunch our House Captains host a whole-school event. So far, they have hosted a huge House Scavenger Hunt where students and staff gathered on Google Meets wearing their House colours and raced to find household objects on the scavenger hunt list. They also hosted a Gamer Meet where students had the opportunity to either participate in an online live game or snap a picture of them playing any sort of game at home. Many agreed that Mr. Stubbs’s gaming picture (featured below) was awesome and will definitely earn Fraser some points!

We are now looking forward to our next two days of activities including a Mega Kahoot and The Longest - Endurance Mini Events all hosted by the House Captains.

Our building may be closed but our school spirit is still thriving! Students and staff are having a blast showing their House pride and we can’t wait to see which House will come out on top after this week.

Thank you to Mr. McFarlane, Ms. Porter, our House Captains and all those who planned such a special week.

Now, may the best House win!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
