Join Our Parent Series and Community Conversations!

Kate Raven, Communications Manager
Each year, Greenwood seeks to bring external experts in to speak to our parents and guardians about a variety of topics relating to teens and their social, emotional and cognitive well-being. We appreciate that expertise in this area connects to our school community’s goals relating to student well-being and personalized learning.

We have four exciting opportunities for parents and guardians to hear from experts in the coming months. Learn more about them below!

Community Conversations Continue!

We are so proud of and inspired by the great work happening at Greenwood and the many amazing staff that make it happen.

Last year, we received very positive feedback on our Community Conversations and we are back for another year!

Sessions are held approximately every 6 weeks on a Wednesday from 12:30-1:15 p.m. (We hope this means that many parents and guardians will be able to join us over lunch.) At these sessions, you will meet various Greenwood staff and learn about their work and what it means for your child.

Please join us for our first Community Conversation with Kathryn Connelly (Director of Student Well-being) and Shai Kohen (our new Social Worker) on Wednesday, October 18 from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. You can join the session here on October 18 (the link will also appear in Week @ A Glance).

Other Community Conversations to look forward include:
  • Student Life
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Teens and Literacy
  • Project-Based Learning
  • And more!
Questions and comments are welcome! Please email Mary Gauthier at mary.gauthier@greenwoodcollege.org.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
