Coming to a Stage Near You

Tihmily Li, Communications Officer
Greenwood’s theatrical productions take months of planning, preparation and rehearsal time. We are pleased to put on three separate productions this year:
  • Our Grade 7 and 8s will perform Matilda Jr., a musical based on the Roald Dahl book by the same name.
  • The Senior Play (Grades 9–12) for this year is Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, a parody based on the Harry Potter book series.
  • For the first time in Greenwood’s history, we are mounting a full-school musical! All grades will come together to put on a production of Disney’s Newsies, a musical about the real-life Newsboys’ Strike of 1899 in New York City.
Further announcements on each individual production and how to purchase tickets will be made available later on. We hope to see you soon at the Greenwood Theatre!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
