Congratulations to the Winter OE Photo Contest Winners!

Congratulations to the winners of the Winter OE Photo Contest.

Staff and students were invited to submit images for this contest.

These breath-taking photos were captured on outdoor education trips earlier this year.

Ms. Cooper, Teacher

“I took the photo at Grade 10 winter camp, in the late afternoon of our first day there. I had been walking to explore the site and stopped to watch the sunset. It was the first time all of us had seen the sun for weeks so most staff and students were out enjoying the sight!”

Michele Horak ‘24

“The photo was taken from a drone at sunset after our full-day journey to a remote ecolodge. You can see the river we enjoyed swimming in. Beside the river, you can find the rugged path we hiked in on with the hot Costa Rican sun on our backs.”

Violet Bryce ‘24

This photo was taken on the Grade 12 trip to Costa Rica.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
