Announcing Greenwood's New Logo

Allan Hardy
On almost every front, we have a unique opportunity to take stock, recommit ourselves to what Greenwood is all about, and show the world proudly what we stand for.

We engaged Hambly & Woolley, an award-winning design firm that have worked with Greenwood over the past ten years, to lead this project. To create the design brief, we distributed a survey that over 600 stakeholders participated in. One of the key pieces of feedback from this survey was that the symbol of a tree had great resonance within the Greenwood community.

Over the past two months, Bob Hambly met with a stakeholder advisory group composed of students, staff, current and past parents and alumni. This group examined several possible new school logos and concluded that the new logo was the best choice, as it honoured our roots and represented the ongoing evolution of the school. Of equal importance, the advisory group felt our new logo captures the bold, dynamic and contemporary feel of Greenwood.

I hope you are excited about our new look. I believe it captures the feedback we have heard throughout the past several months and looks forward to Greenwood’s bright, exciting future.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
