Celebration Day

We wrapped up the school year on Friday, June 16 last week with a Celebration Day for the memory books. The event was held at the Toronto Centre for the Arts for the first time, echoing the excitement and novelty Greenwood has felt all year in our newly expanded facilities.

Greenwood marked the end of the year with memories and accolades, featuring the end-of-year slideshow, awards and the coveted House Cup. Thompson House was the big winner, and in a special twist of fate the cup was presented by founder David Thompson to his son, who happened to be one of two House Captains for Thompson this year. For the full list of award winners, click here.

We thank everyone who came out to celebrate with us. We were thrilled to see so many parents, grandparents and other special relatives join us. Stay tuned for a link to the full set of photos, and in the meantime click through the photos here for some highlights.

Have a fabulous summer!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
