More Opportunities for Students to Get Involved With New Clubs

Erin Taylor, Communications Officer
Clubs are an essential part of life at Greenwood. They allow students to pursue their interests outside of an academic setting, whether they want to delve further into business studies, learn to knit, or express their creative side.

This term, there are four new clubs for students to get involved in. For students who want to hone their skills on the rock wall, the Rock Climbing club meets on Mondays at lunch.

Students looking for a new creative outlet can check out the Visual Arts Club or the Write Club. In the Visual Arts Club, which meets on Tuesdays at lunch, students get access to extra studio time to pursue their artistic ideas. In Write Club, members can work on their own creative writing projects or give constructive feedback to other students. Write Club meets every Friday at lunch.

The Spanish Club is for anyone hoping to acquire some conversational Spanish. Whether you already know a bit of the language or are a complete beginner, the Spanish Club is a great place to learn and practice. After all, the best way to learn a language is to speak it!

These four new clubs are in addition to Greenwood’s regular clubs and student organizations, covering everything from student government to karaoke. There is no shortage of ways for students to pursue their interests and get involved!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
