Student Leadership at Greenwood

Tihmily Li, Communications Officer
Every spring at Greenwood marks the beginning of the student leadership season. Students can choose from many opportunities and apply to become a leader at Greenwood. These opportunities help give students a chance to interact with their peers and staff to provide programming and to gain some leadership experience.

Besides applying for Heads of Student Leadership positions, there are also plenty of other opportunities for students interested in a leadership role at the school. Many of these roles are not restricted to any particular grades and students from Grades 7–11 are encouraged to apply. Students can apply for an executive position for the following committees:
  • Arts Committee
  • Athletics Committee
  • Community Outreach Executive
  • DECA Executive
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) Committee
  • Girls’/Boys’/Social Club Leaders
  • Grad Affairs Team
  • Host & Ambassador Team
  • Host & Ambassador Team Coordinator
  • House Captain
  • House Captain Executive
  • Jack Chapter Committee
  • Peer Mentoring Team
  • School Newspaper Team
  • School Newspaper Editor
  • Social Affairs Team
  • Student Council Grade Representatives
  • Stewardship and Sustainability Committee
  • Yearbook and Photography Team
Students interested in applying for a leadership role on any of the committees should submit their application by 11:59 p.m. on April 6.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
