Meet Judi Steadman: Greenwood's new Executive Director, Advancement & Community Engagement

Join us in welcoming our Executive Director, Advancement & Community Engagement Judi Steadman – a dynamic, compassionate, and innovative fundraising professional with extensive experience across both the corporate and non-profit sectors.

Prior to Greenwood, Judi was Interim Director, Corporate Partnerships at The Children's Aid Foundation of Canada, where she played a pivotal role in securing philanthropic and sponsorship support from leading Canadian companies to improve outcomes for children and youth in and from the child welfare system.

Judi has extensive experience across both the corporate and nonprofit sectors and has held leadership roles with organizations such as Susan G. Komen San Diego, where she led major gifts and corporate sponsorships, and the San Diego Zoo, where she contributed to a landmark $440-million capital campaign. Throughout her career she has worked to cultivate strong stakeholder relationships with corporate leaders, donors, community champions and other stakeholders in order to deliver strategic fundraising initiatives to consistently drive impact and help non-profits surpass their goals and deepen their influence in the communities they serve.

Judi says she was drawn to Greenwood because of our innovative, student-centred approach to learning. She speaks highly of the personalized way that Greenwood teachers work with students, meeting them where they are at to help them grow and develop. Judi is looking forward to connecting with the Greenwood community, celebrating our alumni and being part of Greenwood's future.

“I’m genuinely excited to join Greenwood and be part of a school community that’s known for its warmth, innovation, and commitment to helping every student thrive,” she said. “It will be my privilege to contribute to such a dynamic and supportive environment, particularly as we start planning for the school's 25th anniversary and the next 25 years.”

In her off time, you can find her in her favourite place (her kitchen!), putting her cooking skills to the test, spending time with her family, and walking her dog Bear!

Welcome to Greenwood, Judi.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
