Even with the hustle and bustle of Holiday Hootenanny activities, the Greenwood community found time to gather on the evening of December 16 for our annual Music Night. Emceed by Samantha Jaskolka ‘26 and Carter Murphy ‘26, families and guests enjoyed performances from instrumental classes and co-curricular bands. For many of the performers, their first time playing their instrument was at the beginning of the school year and they only had a few months to go from learning their instruments’ basics to performing a composition.
As a special thank you for their ongoing dedication and contributions to Greenwood’s curricular and co-curricular music program, Mr. Piasetski and Mr. Stubbs were presented bouquets at the end of the night.
Here are the performances from the concert:
The Grade 7 Band performed Lean on Me composed by Bill Withers, arrangement by Richard Piasetski.
The Grade 8 Band performed He’s A Pirate by Klaus Badelt, Geoff Zanelli and Hans Zimmer, arrangement by Robert Longfield
The Grade 9 Band performed two pieces:

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
