Getting Vacation Ready with February’s Greenwood Mic

Xavier Nash, Communications Officer
Greenwood students and staff showed up in their ideal “vacation getaway” gear — part of Friday’s Dress Down theme — for February 27’s Greenwood Mic. The vacation theme had the performers all warmed up to showcase their musical and dance talents for the Greenwood Community.

This month’s Artists’ Spotlights were also awarded during the assembly. We’d once again like to thank the performers, staff and Arts Committee for making Greenwood Mic such an incredible showcase!

Performers:

The assembly kicked off with Jacob Alvo '27 and Jack Kimmel '27 playing and singing Tom Petty’s Free Fallin, followed by Ella Roland ‘27 and Maddy Shaw ‘27 performing Favorite Crime by Olivia Rodrigo.

Emma Cooper ‘31, Hannah Gosevitz-Foulds ‘31 and Sloane Ingram ‘31 played and sang Madeline by Zach Bryan and Gabriella Rose, Tessa Campbell ‘26 and Charlotte Logan ‘26 gave an interpretive dance and lip sync performance of Katy Perry’s Wide Awake and Simona Sera ‘29 sang Pappaoutai by Stromae.

In the last batch of performers, Emma Cooper ‘31 once again took the stage to sing Your Song by Elton John, Sammy Kimelman ‘28 sang and played Shake the Frost by Tyler Childers and the Senior Guitar Club rounded things off with a performance of Radiohead’s Maquiladora.

Mark your calendars: the next Greenwood Mic is set to take place on May 14, 2026.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
