Teeing Off at Greenwood’s Annual Community Golf Tournament

A 7:30 a.m start is early for many, yet Greenwood alumni, parents, past parents, staff and friends of the community were already up and ready on September 25, 2026 to spend the day at the school’s annual Community Golf Tournament at Angus Glen. The event sees members of the community, both past and present, come together for a day of activity, sharing old memories and making new ones.

This year’s event was held in support of Greenwood’s Athletics program, with the golf tournament itself being a great reflection of the leadership, community-building and commitment found in the school’s program.

During the reception following the round, Principal Heather Thomas and Sheila Allen, Director of Athletics, each spoke about the importance of the school’s athletics and how it fosters the same growth and sense of community that was present in the reception hall. This was followed by Blair Yungblut, Guidance & Postsecondary Counsellor, leading the gathering in a cheer that he performs with the sports teams he coaches at Greenwood.

Thank you to everyone that came out to support and partake in this year’s event!

Congratulations to the winning foursome: Jason Puterman, Allan Puterman, Jared Puterman and Mike Pain.

Congratulations to this year’s contest winners:

Longest Drive: Eric Mercer ‘11, Alex Currie ‘17

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
