Wrapping up DECA at the Ontario Provincials

Devyn Main ('16)
DECA Ontario is an experiential business event that focuses on case studies. In order to qualify, these ten students had to place within the top 20 teams at the regional competition back in November.

Greenwood was represented in four individual events by Jack Mozas (’15), Charlie Horner (’16), Noah Downie (’16) and Cameron Khalili (’16). For the provincial competition, individuals completed two oral exams. They had 10 minutes to familiarize themselves with the case and solve it. They then wrote a one-hour exam to determine their final score in the competition. Greenwood was also represented by three teams, Sarah Whittaker and Grace McDougald (both ’16), Devyn Main and Brooke Robinson (both ’16), Naama Nofech-Mozes and Izzy Farag (both ’17). Each team completed one oral exam in which they had 30 minutes to solve the case. Teams also completed an hour-long exam the following day.

This was the end of the DECA season for all of Greenwood competitors. Everyone finished with great final scores, and we are looking forward to next year!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
