Celebrating the Opening of our New Greenspace

A cheer erupted at Greenwood’s new greenspace on September 10 as Principal, Head of School Heather Thomas and Board Chair Stephen Bowman officially cut the ribbon – and our Heads of Student Leadership Jacob A. and Mackenzie R. scored an inaugural goal on our mascot, the Grizz.

Donors, parents, past parents, alumni and staff gathered to celebrate the much-anticipated opening with tours, the ribbon-cutting, refreshments, and remarks.

“Projects like this do not happen by accident, and they certainly do not happen alone,” Stephen said. “We are standing here tonight because a dedicated group of individuals believed in what this space could mean for our school's future.” 

"Adding outdoor space to campus has long been the vision for Greenwood", added Stephen. 

“Since the school opened, students and staff have been asking for a field, “ Heather said. “And, thanks to all of you, we now have one.”

Fall athletics teams have already started to use the field for practices, and the Greenspace is open at breaks and community time to promote socializing and play. 

Please join us in thanking all those involved in this project, from the Campus Development Committee to the architects, construction teams, facilities and our teams who will incorporate Greenwood’s expanded campus into our daily school life.
