Here are the latest results from our Grizzlies to conclude the winter athletics season.

Basketball

U14 Boys’ Basketball DII
  • Feb 27: Won 55-53 against Hillfield Strathallan College
  • Feb 28: Won 46-38 against Ridley College
  • Feb 28: Won 50-37 against De La Salle
Jr Boys’ Basketball DII
  • Feb 22: Lost 62-26 to Bayview Glen
Jr Boys’ Basketball DIB
  • Feb 22: Won 55-45 against Trinity College School
  • Feb 22: Won 77-47 against Villanova College
  • Mar 1: Lost 62-58 to The York School
Sr Boys’ Basketball DIB
  • Feb 24: Won 42-31 against Holy Trinity School
  • Feb 24: Won 59-53 against Hillfield Strathallan college
  • Mar 1: Lost 57-38 to Appleby College

Hockey
Sr Boys’ Hockey NC DI
  • Feb 22: Lost 6-2 to Royal St. George’s College

Skiing 
The Greenwood ski team’s dedication and commitment showed this season. For the final runs this season, many skiers had strong finishes.
  • Will Hossack ‘28 won bronze at the CISAA U14 level.
  • Thomas Douglas ‘24, Evan Edgell ‘24 and Michele Horak ‘24 all qualified for OFSAA.
  • Michele Horak ‘24 won silver at OFSAA in the Giant Slalom race.
  • Evan Edgell ‘24 ranks 18th among skiers from across the province at OFSAA.

Snowboarding
The GCS snowboarding team had fantastic showing at CISAA and OFSAA. Here are some notable highlights:
  • Nate Lamb ‘27 won gold in the CISAA U14 snowboarding finals.
  • Julia Morris ‘24 won gold in the CISAA in Sr. Girls’ slopestyle finals.
  • The Sr. Girls’ team won gold at the CISAA finals and placed 4th at OFSAA championships.
  • Seamus McKeag ‘23 won gold at OFSAA in Sr. Boys’ Giant Slalom.
  • The Sr. Boys’ team won silver at CISAA finals and won gold at the OFSAA championships.

Swimming
Greenwood swimmers had a combined 11 podium finishes at the CISAA finals. Here are some notable results:
  • Ainsley Parker ‘25 placed first in the 50 metre freestyle and backstroke
  • Jack Loewen ‘24 placed first in the 200 metre individual medley
Nathan Barry ‘23, Jack Loewen ‘24, Ainsley Parker ‘25, Connor Pemberton ‘23 and Burkleigh Smith ‘23 went on to compete at OFSAA. 
  • Jack Loewen ‘24 finished 6th at the provincial level for the backstroke race
  • Ainsley Parker ‘25 won gold in the 50 metre freestyle. This is Greenwood’s first-ever OFSAA gold in swimming.

Volleyball

Jr Girls’ Volleyball DI
  • Mar 1: Won 2-1 against Holy Trinity School
  • Mar 1: Lost 2-1 to De La Salle
  • Mar 1: Lost 2-0 to Havergal College
Jr Girls’ Volleyball DIII
  • Feb 27: Lost 3-1 to Pickering College
Sr Girls’ Volleyball 
  • Mar 1: Won 3-0 against Crestwood Preparatory College
  • Mar 1: Won 3-1 against Bayview Glen
