First-Ever Junior Case Competition

Greenwood held our first-ever Junior Case Competition last week. Business Club executives Nathalie Borlase ‘24, Thomas Douglas ‘24 and Kevin Xu ‘24 organized and managed all of the logistics, coaching and judging for this week-long event. This competition was open to students from Grades 7 to 9 only. This initiative from the execs offered an opportunity for younger students to familiarize themselves with case competitions at an earlier stage in their education.

The case that the students received was one written by Nathalie, Thomas and Kevin. The groups were tasked to come up with solutions to help a local candy shop expand their business. Throughout the week during Community Time and lunch, the groups received coaching and guidance from the Business Club execs while they thought of possible solutions and created their presentations.

On Friday, December 15, three groups presented their solutions to the judges (Nathalie Borlase ‘24, Thomas Douglas ‘24, Jake Grevler ‘24 and Kevin Xu ‘24). The judges said they were thoroughly impressed with the presentations.
