The busy stretch of May brings excitement and joy

Dear Greenwood Community,

With final evaluations set to begin and only a few weeks left before our end-of-year celebrations, now is the perfect time to pause and reflect on the wonderful term we have shared.

The energy at Greenwood has been palpable, with our students truly thriving. We enjoyed the energetic and engaging production of The Prom, quickly followed by a beautiful Grade 11 and 12 formal for our older students. A busy and successful Term 3 athletics season is wrapping up, and our students have shone in robotics, math, and business case competitions. It has been inspiring to see the continued community and skill-building of the Fishing Club on their recent field trips, embracing the opportunity to get outside. And, many of our students successfully wrote Advanced Placement exams earlier this month.

Looking ahead, we are eagerly preparing for the launch of our new 2026–2036 Strategic Plan, set to debut in the fall of 2026. The new strategic plan will emphasize the elements of Greenwood that make us special -- from personalized learning and a welcoming community to transformative student experiences and the staff that make these opportunities possible for our students. I look forward to sharing the new strategic plan with you in the fall at Curriculum Night.

Last week, many students and staff shared their talent with a professional photographer and videographer who were at Greenwood for two days gathering imagery and footage that will help showcase and promote Greenwood. Our guests remarked on the wonderful warmth, vibe and spirit they felt within the halls of Greenwood. Thank you for making them feel welcome and showing what Greenwood is all about.

And, our long-awaited Greenspace is getting much closer to completion! I extend my deepest gratitude to our many donors who helped bring the space to life. The turf has been laid, and final landscaping touches are underway.

I am looking forward to celebrating the 2025-2026 school year and community at Greenwood Celebration Day on Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Meridian Arts Centre, and hope to see you there to honour a wonderful year!
