Annual Appeal: What Can I Support?

    • Without support from our community, spaces such as our newly renovated Innovation Lab would not be possible.

Without support from our community, spaces such as our newly renovated Innovation Lab would not be possible.

Like our students, our supporters have a wide range of passions and priorities. With this in mind, we have several initiatives you can support with your gift to this year’s Annual Appeal.
All of the initiatives below will make a tremendous impact on life at Greenwood; we hope one of them speaks to you.

List of 5 items.

  • Innovation Lab

Thanks to generous support from previous Appeals, Phase 1 of our Innovation Lab renovation is complete. Phase 2 will focus on weaving the Lab into the fabric of school life. Goals include:
    • Creating a portable classroom to support design thinking across subjects
    • Building design features to draw people into the space
    • Outfitting the lab with additional equipment such as a laser cutter and 3D scanner
  • Health and Well-being

Focusing on wellness is paramount in today’s fast-paced world. Your support for health and well-being will enable us to continue to help our community be well in mind and body.

Your donation will support initiatives such as:
    • New and improved equipment for Physical Education classes and the Fitness Centre
    • Wellness programming for students
    • Guest speakers for both parents and students surrounding physical, mental and emotional well-being
    • Professional development and qualifications for staff, such as mental health first aid certification
  • Greenwood Centre for Teaching and Learning

Research shows a strong positive correlation between student achievement and teacher learning. With your help, we can expand and enrich professional development opportunities for our teachers. Your support will not only help Greenwood’s teachers to constantly grow as professionals, but also ensure that we retain excellent, mission-appropriate staff for years to come.
  • Learning Commons and Library

The job market is evolving swiftly as technology continues to advance. We want to ensure our students are prepared for this era of rapid change by giving them the skills they’ll need to succeed. • Student Financial Assistance

Each year our Leaving Class has a fund established in their honour. This year, the Class of 2020 Fund will go towards building endowment in support of student financial assistance.

If you choose to give to the Class of 2020 Fund, please be sure to make your cheque payable to the “Greenwood College School Foundation.” Donations for Class Funds cannot be made online, as the Greenwood College School Foundation is unable to process online payments.
Not sure where to direct your gift? Feel free to contact Jamie Lougheed, Executive Director, Advancement at 416 545 5103 or jamie.lougheed@greenwoodcollege.org to discuss your options. You can also consider the Greenwood Fund, which supports the school's area of greatest need as determined by the Principal.

Online giving is not available for funds held by the Greenwood College School Foundation. Donations to the Foundation can be made using this form.
Donations from parents, past parents, alumni, staff and friends are what allow Greenwood to go “the extra mile” with initiatives and programming over and above what tuition can cover.
