Class of 2016 Profiles: Unique Programs

Emma Gangbar

Emma’s interest in sustainability, food security, land use and agriculture - and particularly in how design can be used to improve them - led her to apply to programs that aligned strongly with these areas. She has been accepted to two unique faculties: the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Land and Food Systems, and the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Design. She has visited both schools and is currently making her decision.

Oliver Green

Oliver has applied to Architecture programs at the University of Toronto, the University of Waterloo, Ryerson University and Carleton University. Architecture brings together Oliver’s interests in art (he was one of our major exhibitors at last Thursday’s Construct Art Show) and design. He has not yet decided which program he will attend in the fall.

Ellie Wolfond

Ellie has the option to head to New York City next year to attend the Strategic Design and Management program at Parson’s The New School. Recognizing how the business world is changing, this program merges business and creativity and emphasizes project-based studio and seminar courses. Collaboration and research are major focuses. The program earns students a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
