Adam Lewis ('11) Has Busy Summer of Competition

Kate Raven
Despite only beginning to run track in grade 12, Adam's talent and dedication have launched him into elite company. While studying in the Bachelor of Commerce Co-op program at Dalhousie University, Adam competes with the Dalhousie Tigers Men's Track and Field Team in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m distances. He also trains with HaliFAST Athletics, one of Nova Scotia's top track and field teams.

Adam's summer started with qualifying for the 100m Dash at the 2013 Canadian Track and Field Championships, where he placed 11th overall with a time of 11.30s. Less than a month later, he flew to Israel, where he had been invited to compete for Team Canada at the 2013 Maccabi Games. There, he set a personal best of 10.89s and earned a 5th-place finish in the 100m Dash, and brought home a bronze medal for Canada in the 4x100m Relay.

Most recently, Adam travelled to Sherbrooke, QC, as a member of Team Nova Scotia for the 2013 Canada Games. He competed in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m Relay events, earning finishes of 11th, 9th and 5th, respectively.

After a very busy summer, Adam's third season with the Dalhousie Tigers is right around the corner. We know he'll continue to make Greenwood proud!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
